Music Institute

The Music Institute is a performing arts immersion program, sponsored by Potential Unlimited Productions, Inc. and NYS OMRDD. The Music Institutes provide creative time and space to explore performance media, learn skills, develop talents and perform! Teaching artists offer distinct workshops which introduce participants to a variety of performance art including dance, drama , vocal and instrumental music.

Assembly & Workshop Programs

Breaking Down Barriers Through Music
Project Harmony provides students of all ages the opportunity to experience performing artists who have developmental disabilities. Our assemblies and workshops present valuable opportunities for class discussion of such issues as tolerance, diversity, self-esteem, prejudice, abilities and disabilities, participation in a community, equal opportunity, and inclusion versus alienation. We offer the following program options:

Assembly
Entitled “Celebrating Diversity Through Music” and designed for large groups, this multimedia program features videography, narration, and a live performance with two Potential Unlimited artists and accompaniment.
(45-60 minutes):

Workshop
Available in two themes and designed for small classroom groups (of any age), this program features an interactive experience with a facilitator/accompanist and Potential Unlimited artist(s).
(35-45 minutes):

Assembly & Workshop
This program can accommodate both a large audience and a smaller, more intimate workshop session for further curricular enhancement.
(1/2 day, a.m. or p.m.):

Our presentations support the curricula of school safety, affective education, human relations, multiple intelligences, and disability awareness.
